For Hospitals

Highly trained, nationally certified neurotechnologists collaborate with our attending neurophysiologists/neurologists to provide real-time interpretation of neurophysiological data and allow CDI to have less than a 0.1% occurrence of unexpected negative surgical outcomes. Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IOM or IONM) decreases the risk of injury to the nervous system during surgery.  This is done by monitoring certain neurological structures, depending on the specific surgery, whose functional integrity are at risk during the procedure.

Benefits

  • Postoperative rehabilitation needed for patients that have suffered from neurological deficits have increased in costs.  By providing the service of IOM and decreasing the occurrence of deficits, the cut of medical costs is substantial.  Click here for the full article.
  • Intraoperative monitoring has been shown to decrease medical cost and is now the standard of care.  IOM allows for a decrease risk of surgical procedure by providing a continuous feedback loop around the patient and surgeon during the surgical procedure.  This decreases post operative care and the time for the patients return to normal life.  Decreased medical costs for follow-up care such as rehabilitation and therapy also contribute to decreased medical cost.
